Elizabeth Swaine was a daughter of Captain Samuel Swaine, who was one of the settlers of Newark, NJ. (see here: http://www.njfounders.org/history/early-settlers-newark)
If you look at the list, you’ll see Baldwins, Cranes and Wards. Josiah Ward was Elizabeth Swaine’s first husband (before she married our ancestor David Ogden). And the Crane and Baldwin families are other ancestors of Thomas Edison so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are more interrelated with us.
In my research I’ve connected to ancestors who have founded several areas in CT, MA, NY and PA (I’m compiling that info now)— now we can add Newark, NJ to the list :).
