Isaac Jessup
his son, Thomas J.
his daughter, Allie - married John Robertson Lee
their son was Clarence Arlington Lee (he served in WWI)
Clarence was father to Joseph Jessiop Lee,
I'm still trying to gather and confirm some information but it looks like the following:
Isaac Jessup (he's in this photo) moved to Indiana and settled in Howard County in 1849 and bought about 400 or so acres of land. He provided the land and helped back the building of the Poplar Grove Methodist Church in Poplar Grove, Indiana.
He had two wives (and I think they're the two women in that photo referenced above). The first one it appears you are descended from: Sarah (I believe her maiden name is Elliott - see attached story which tells more about Isaac's beginnings and his first wife but there is at least one error, it says Isaac had 7 kids and then 9 are named; however, the info about the church and about Isaac's daughter Sophia I've found elsewhere). Isaac's second wife was Sophia Moore, who he married in 1870 about 8 months after his first wife died.
Isaac's son, Thomas J. (who was father to Allie - she married John Robertson Lee), is the Civil War veteran.
Thomas enlisted in Company K, Indiana 5th Cavalry Regiment on 20 Aug 1862 for the Union Army. He mustered out on 15 Jun 1865 at Pulaski, TN. And while he was married to a Sarah E, this was his second wife (he married her in 1859) and does NOT appear to be Allie's mother. If you look here - and read through the correspondence, Thomas says he married Elizabeth Hatfield in 1851 and according to census records, Allie (Alice in the census) was born about 1855. However, since Sarah basically raised Allie you still could say she was Allie's mother, just not her biological one.
The correspondence also lists his surviving children as of 1898 and Allie isn't listed - confirming she died before 1898. Sadly this correspondence also shows Thomas was badly wounded in the war suffering from:
Chronic inflamation of right eye with impaired vision. Chronic abscess of sectrum, the result of injury received in the line of his duty, April, 1863, since which time he has done no duty. Thomas J. and Sarah are buried in Albright Cemetery. Indiana apparently has done a lot to preserve history and their graves are here. (note the marker says he 5 Ind Cav (for his Civil War service) Sarah E's grave.
