Millard Henry Koehler - Military
Millard Henry Koehler (1916-1989) served in World War II. A member of the 17th Bomber Group in the Army Air Force, his rank was Staff Sergeant. His job title was air operations specialist and he operated and/or repaired radios. He served during World War II, stationed in England.In 1942, he attended AFTS Scott Field (believed to be in Illinois, about 20 miles east of St. Louis, MO) to learn radio operations & mechanics.
He left May 27, 1942 to serve in the European Theater of Operations. He arrived in Europe June 3, 1943 and stayed there until Oct. 11, 1945. He arrived in the US Oct. 16, 1945.
The first two photos were taken in Dijon, France on VE Day (Victory in Europe). The first two photos are various regiments on parade. The rest of these photos were taken during his time in England & France during the war - including men in his company. Photos of Millard during this time can be found here.
