Floyd Family
Catharine F. Floyd married Jesse M. Lee on Dec 11, 1835 in Hamilton, Butler, Ohio. Together they had 10 children: Chambless A. (he died a few months after birth), Eliza M. (who married George Funk), Harriet M., John Robertson (see below), Sarah E., Catherine (who married Lafayette Hufman), Martha J. (who died at 6 years old), Prudence (who married Maximo Emley and later William A. Brandon), Charles H. and Clara.
Catharine Floyd's parents may be Martin Luther Floyd and Sarah or Martha Conklin. There is a Sarah and a Martha Conklin, both daughters of William Conklin Sr. and Susannah Wood. I'm not sure yet which one could be the wife of Martin. The Hause Genealogy site has information on the Wood family and Susannah Wood, who married William Conklin. The site also has information on Jonathan Wood and Joanna Crampton, the parents of Susannah Wood.
According to the Elias Pratt Family Bible, William Conklin's and Susannah Wood's children included Sarah, born Oct. 24, 1785 and Martha, born Oct. 17, 1789. I'm still trying to determine which one could be the mother of Catharine Floyd. The document below shows Catharine Floyd marrying Jesse M. Lee and her mother, SARAH Floyd, giving permission. The witness Martha Floyd and Allen Simmes, would appear to be Catharine's sister and brother-in-law. However, other documents for the Simmes/Syms family show Allen's wife to be named Sarah, not Martha. So perhaps the "permission" document mistakenly identified Catharine's mother.
