Shutterfly.com - you can create a free share site and post photos to share with family anywhere in the world; you will need a digital camera and a scanner for older photos & documents; you can't beat a free way to share your photos and I like the quality of their prints as well
Canaan Media - transfer video tapes and old movies (including those on 8 mm film) to DVD; they also can convert slides and photos; you can drop off (if near NYC or Bridgewater, NJ) or ship your film to be transferred; I've used their service and would recommend them Preserving Family Treasures - general guide Preserving Old Photos & Documents - specifics on preserving photos, etc Preserving & Protecting Photos - more tips from the American Museum of Photography Video Preservation
