Dutch Reformed Church of Stone Arabia
The Dutch Reformed Church of Stone Arabia. The congregation was organized in 1711. The church was left in ashes following the October 19, 1780 raid of Col. Sir John Johnson. The present day limestone edifice was built in 1788 at a cost of $3,378.
The records from this church show the marriage of Jacob Eacker and Gertrude Herkimer, daughter of George Herkimer (Revolutionary War captain and brother of general Nicholas Herkimer)
Some of our relatives and ancestors are buried here including Andreas Finck (grandfather to Jacob Eacker) and his wife Catarina Loucks Finck. Other Eacker and Laux (Loucks) relatives are buried here.
